Festive weekend for GRFA men!!!

On Sunday Geelong SC produced a very promising performance against an experienced side and an old rivalry North Geelong. With six individual goal scorers Geelong thumped North Geelong 6-1.  Who else to open the account but the coach him self George Dimovski with a nice lobby from outside the box. Ten minutes later Robert Nikoloski made it 2-0 with a nice low and hard shot from out side the box leaving the keeper with nothing but saw finger tips. Throughout the first half Geelong produced a lot more chances but all were missed including Branko Krstevski’s classical miss just 2 meters away from the goal line. The first half finished 2-0 to Geelong.

Second half Geelong come out with a mission and that was to finish off the opponent. But after a couple of bad errors in the back line, North Geelong managed to sneak one through.  With a 2-1 score, changes were made and the results were eminent, with Mikki and Costa doubling the score with assistance from the midfield. At 4-1 Geelong had the game sealed and key players were rested.  Geelong’s new striker Alex, opened his account with a magical finish. All hopes were lost for North Geelongs  when Branko made up for his early error slotting the last goal for the day.

With no losses for the last 4 games Geelong has posted a clear message to the competition. They have cemented their top 4 position and they are here for the challenge in round two of the season.

Next week Geelong has a well deserved break. On the 5th July, Geelong continues the season playing at home against Corio Bay with a kick off at 3:00pm.
