On Saturday, our Firsts Team lost to promotion bound Maribyrnong Greens by the smallest of margins.

GeelongSC was missing 6 starters for this clash much like the Geelong Cats at Brisbane last week. Unlike the Cats our young players did a great job, they showed real spirit, battling to the end.

Our boys got within 5 minutes of a result, Maribyrnong scored their late winner from a goalmouth scrammble when keeper Romeo wasn't able to cover the ball. Moments earlier Romeo featured in a highlight when he made a fantastic penalty save, diving full-stretch he blocked the spot-kick.

Our best performers were Octay and Mikey.

The Reserves Team fared much better, winning decisively 2-0.

Next week both teams travel to fellow mid-tabler Moreland City. Should be another good contest.
