Geelong suffered two first half goals to bottom placed Maribyrnong GreensThe second half saw Geelong denied a goal when Ante Cicak managed to get the ball into the area only to be caught on the end of a late challenge from a Greens defender that resulted in a red card, but to Geelongs dismay the ball had been put in the net, yet the goal was denied as the referee opted to deal with the serious nature of the foul on Cicak rather then play an advantage.
Shortly after Cicak received a red card for leaving the playing feild.
Geelong pulled one back through James Agius but it was all in vein as the Greens managed to hang on despite the numerous opportunities Geelong carved out.
