Open Women in spiteful goal-less draw with Lara

Tempers flared once again in a passionate encounter between Geelong and Lara. A game that was dictated by a strong wind brought out the best in both defenses. Kate at left back repelled Lara on numerous occasions while Emily in goal was put to the test and denied Lara of any goals.

Geelong was again guided in attack and supported in defense by Steph who managed to cover all aspects of the ground. Her determination and endeavor to win the ball enabled Geelong to pressure the Lara defence by creating opportunities for Angela Sumyera, Sahra and Nicole. Even though the end result was nil all, Geelong proved that they can play and support each other as a team when the going gets tough.
