FFV Men: Lalor FC 1-3 Geelong SC

Ante Cicak opened Geelongs account 10 minutes in. After earning a free kick just inside the attacking half, Scott Davison's pass was met by the head of Troy Hardy who turned the ball back across the goal mouth for Cicak to finish. The second came moments later, again from a Davison set peice, but this time it was turned into the net by the head of an under pressure Lalor defender.

Into the second half Lalor was awarded a controversial penalty when Geelong keeper, Romeo Purlija, was judged to have brought down a Lalor striker inside the area. Lalor converted the spot kick.

With a brief momentum shift behind them Lalor had a period of ill discipline which saw two players recieving red cards. The first to receive an early shower was awarded a second yellow for what appeared to be handball. Within minutes of going down to 10 men, the Lalor keeper was given his orders after he kicked out at Mathais Gorosito.

With Lalor down to 9, Troy Hardy sealed the points. Oktay Yilmaz broke through the Lalor defence but had his shot blocked by the keeper, Hardy headed the deflected shot into an empty net.

Ronnie Clayson was introduced late into the game, his first appearance since his return to Stead Park.
