Our Sunday League Mens Team wins the League!

On the weekend our Sunday league men defeated Barwon Heads 5-1, this win moves our team 7 points clear on top of the Ladder with one game to go. Second placed Barwon lost on the weekend so they cannot catch us anymore eventhough they have one catch-up game.

Congrats to everyone on the team! We're had a very large squad this year.

Hopefully our boys can maintain their winning form during the upcoming Final Series.

This weekend's win was hard-fought despite the lop-sided score-line. Barwon Heads started strongly dominating large periods of the first half even though they were kicking into a strong wind. Barwon scored first within 10 minutes of the start and could have scored a couple more had it not been for Alec's excellent glove-work in our goal.

Deni scored our equaliser, firing a fierce shot from some 20 meters out, high into their goal's side-netting. Georgi provided the assist beating several opponents before laying the ball off for Deni to shoot first-time.

Bobby scored next to give us the lead at the break. He ran the ball along their by-line before fired into net from what looked like an impossible angle.

The second half went much better for our team. Shiva, Alberto, and Stefan all scored a goal each to secure the win.

In some bad news, Dylan and Georgi suffered long-term injuries. We wish them a speedy recovery!

Our last match is this Sunday versus Barwon, @ 3:00pm in Grovedale.
