GeelongSC Women Triumph
Monday, 02 May 2011 00:50
The GeelongSC Girls had a comfortable 9-2 win over an undermanned Surfside at Shell Reserve.
After leading 4-0 at the break , our girls got surprised and left flat footed. They conceded two early goals in the second half to the combined team of Surfside/Referee. Surfside enjoyed the benefit of 50/50 decisions because they had less players.
Undeterred Geelong persisted to attack the Surfside goal, superbly lead by Kate Hollingworth from the middle scoring 1 goal, Millie Livesey 4 goals , Suzanne Do 2 goals and Emily Livesey and Nicole Marretta both a goal each.
Regardless of the final high winning margin, there were countless missed opportunities that should have given GeelongSC score many more goals.
Never-the-less it is a big positive beginning to the 2011 season. Keep it up GIRLS!!!
