Open Women trump Barwon 4-1

The spirited GeelongSC women put on another disciplined display of precision football which saw them run-out comfortable 4-1 winners.
Faced with a solid Barwon defense, Geelong had to move the ball around through the midfield to open up the game and free–up players to create scoring opportunities. Geelong`s determination paid dividends with Emily and Amy both scoring in the first half. Geelong also conceded a goal in the first half.
Geelong came out in the second term and accepted the challenge of producing a superb performance which netted Millie another 2 goals for Geelong. The level headed Geelong moved the ball around unselfishly creating genuine scoring chances that they were able to capitalize on. The standard and momentum of Geelong`s movement of the ball, their clear decision passing and their focus on team play and continuous encouragement of each other demonstrated the true spirit of the team.
Well done girls!

This Wednesday night our girls play a friendly match against Rockdale Ilinden from NSW @ Stead Park, 7pm kick-off. Come and support and Championship bound team!
