OPEN WOMEN WIN THEIR FIRST GAME

A goal within the first two minutes of play paved the afternoon for the Geelong Open Women`s first win of the season. The taste of glory was evident within the Geelong side. Not content with being 1- 0 up, they continued to pound the Bellarine Shark`s defence.Their passion and persistence was justly rewarded and they went in at half time being 2- 0 up. Solid defending and hard fought attacking play proved to the girls that victory can be sweet. As the game progressed, the scoreline increased as did the pleasurable smiles of victory on their faces. The final score was a memorable 4- 0 victory to Geelong.......which was most noticeable during their VICTORY song. Well done ladies.....
NEXT WEEK 16/05/09 against Barwon Heads at Barwon Heads Cricket Club at 3.00pm.
