Open Women Continue Dominance

VINTAGE SOCCER BY GEELONG - UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES

The combination of youth and raw ageless talent saw the injury depleted Geelong continue on their winning way in the Open Women’s Division.

A lapse of concentration by the Geelong keeper saw Barwon Heads go 1-0 up at the 10 minute mark. The challenge had been set which Geelong accepted with fierce attacking and diligent defending. A long deep penetrating kick by Emily sent the ball deep into our half allowing Nicole to use her potent pace to out- stride the Barwon Heads defence and slot the ball past the keeper. 1-1 at the break.

The second half saw Millie unleash a powerful Beckham like bomb from 20metres out that soared into the back of the net. An awe inspiring goal that fuelled our hunger even more. When Millie stepped up to the penalty spot and slotted in her second goal of the afternoon to put Geelong 3-1, it had dawned on the girls that age has no boundaries.

Another Great Team Effort. Congratulations Girls…
